According to Dutch site Autoedizione (
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
) the new Fiat Strada pick-up that will be manufactured in Brasil will also come to the US as a RAM.. And it’s not called Strada anymore but Toro.. RAM TORO! Or RAM BULL! RAM that BULL (or is it bullshit?). The article actualy mentions the name RAM Rampage for the US market.
So I guess this gets a lot of people excited (since everyone is always complaining on this website how there is no small pickups..
The article mentions that it will be on the B-wide platform, 5 meters long, engines beeing a 1.8 petrol/bioethanol flexfuel and a 2,0 multi-jet diesel with optional 4x4 (underneath it’s basicly a Jeep Renegade pickup).

Then they might as well not sell them at all, saves everyone a lot of trouble. Put it on the showroom floor with a not for sale sign :D

So not the current RAM 700 (bellow), but the replacement strata...correct? Sounds great, but they will need to do a lot better than an N/A 1.8 for the USDM. The 2.4 Springs to mind, and then bring out the 1.4T in a year.

Listed engines are probably the Brasil market engines. Since the Renegade has the 2.4 and 1.4 in the US it makes sense that these will be available in the US. The 1.8 is probably a Brasil market specific since they love bio-ethanol over there.

As soon as you said not manufactured in US you should realize we’ll never get it

Wouldn’t this just be a new Dakota? Or is FCA really going to stick with having all trucks as RAM ...something-or-other? They tried to do that with the “SRT” Viper, but that didn’t last long, lol.

I’m going to go berzerk, ape shit, nuts if they don’t bring the diesel to the U.S.! Why does everyone think we don’t want diesel? What I wouldn’t do for a diesel Hilux!

I guess you mean the chickentax or something? (Sorry, I’m not a native..). I guess this could be made in a US facility from FCA, since it’s basicly the same platform as the Dodge Dart I believe.

Yeah. Maybe if they can get it classified as something other than a truck...

It´s not a Fiat Strada (Ram 700) replacement. Stradas are based on old Fiat Palio platform (small hatch).
The all new Fiat Toro ( http://toro.fiat.com.br ) has the same platform of the Jeep Renegade, so it´s bigger than the Strada and there is no rumour of a single cab workhorse yet. It will slot in the market just under the S10/Ranger/Hilux etc.
It´s targeted right at the also new Renault Oroch, wich is a Logan/Duster based pickup ( https://www.renault.com.br/veiculos/conhe… ).
As for the american market I think they are no go.
Americans better hope (pray) for a Wrangler based pickup.
